Your application process depends on your immigration status.

Usually, if you are going to attend school here, you'll fall into one of these categories:

International student. Your parents are not here, OR you are older than 22.You will be applying independently.
Dependent minor. You are coming here because your parents have obtained a work / study permit from the government of Canada.
Refugee. You cannot return to your home country because of war, disasters, etc.
